What are PDO Threads?
PDO (Polydioxanone) threads are used to lift and tighten sagging skin tissue. It is a minimally invasive treatment which involves the insertion of a small blunt cannula which contains threads (PDOs) that remain in the dermis when the cannula is removed.
It has long lasting results, from 12 to 18 months, and can be combined with anti-ageing injections too. The treatment helps stimulate collagen, allowing the newly produced collagen to tighten the skin. Threads have been used in medicine for more than 20 years and are extremely popular with celebrities, because of the little downtime and how safe they are. The threads use the same material as dissolvable sutures which have been used for decades in hospital all over the world.

How does it work?
The treatment area is numbed with an anaesthetic cream to make the treatment as comfortable as possible, threads are then inserted into different layers of the skin. The threads are completely re-absorbable, once inserted they work by anchoring the skin and lifting it upwards.
They work by effectively creating a support framework for the skin tissue in the treatment area, be it the jowls, mid face or brows. Depending on the areas treated, the procedure takes 15-60 minutes. A lifting effect is created and this can last up to 2 years.
